Diversity & Casting

Kyneton Theatre Company welcomes people of all ages, abilities, races, genders and orientations and it is our goal to make our company as inclusive of minorities and representative of our community as possible - and to make the Arts a home for all.

We encourage people of all backgrounds to audition for The Wiz, and aim to make the cast and crew as diverse as possible.

We understand there may be concerns about whether performing The Wiz could be construed as cultural appropriation. The rights holders have advised us, however, that “there are no restrictions [on casting] so long as the spirit of The Wiz is maintained and cannot be confused with The Wizard of Oz" to which KTC is committed.
